- Kuat, Kuat System, Core Worlds -

*The camera pans around a collapsed Twi'lek on the ground, she seems middle aged, a normal mother, but from the large pool of blood flowing from her. The body is being clutched by two small children, who are weeping*

"This is Hari Hurn from the site of a recent incident on Kuat. Gi'le'fesh had no idea that stepping out of her door this morning on her way to the market she has been using for over twenty years that it would be her last. It appears that during the course of new legislation by the Galactic Empire, this market was outside of Gi'le'fesh's designated alien zone. Unfortunately despite living on Kuat for over twenty years she did not speak much basic and did not understand the storm trooper's request to halt. When she appeared to disobey the edict of the Emperor the storm troopers opened fire, fearing that she may have been a bomber similar to that which made the recent attack on the capital building. We cross back to the studio now for further analysis of this incident."

*An insignia appears on the screen and the newsroom appears with the anchorwoman in place*

Anchorwoman: "Surely this is simply a misunderstanding by the security forces, they cannot have intentionally opened fire on a civilian, alien or not?"

Hari: "Well, it has certainly sparked an increase in tensions, which are already heightened due to the new bill, which many aliens feel is unfair to them. This incident surely can't be good news for the Emperor, who does not want an alien revolt on his hands."

Anchorwoman: "How are the security forces treating the incident, do they appear worried that the possibility of a full scale riot are high?"

Hari: "Well, we have seen today heightened security all around today, storm troopers have been checking all identification and monitoring our movements in particular closely. The authorities seem to be taking this very seriously."

*The camera pans to a troop of storm troopers*

Storm trooper: "Move along, move along."

Hari: "This has been Hari Hurn reporting for Tri-Nebulon News, remember, you hear it here first.

*The Tri-Nebulon Logo appears before the camera returns to the studio*

Anchorwoman: “Ok, I have with me now the local garrison commander, who is an aide to Acting Moff and Sector Adjutant Blighton. Commander, what is your comment on the incident?"

Commander B.: “Of course I can only offer my sincerest apologies to those affect by this crisis. This was a regrettable incident and we are doing our best to insure that it is not repeated, as the loss of more lives would possibly cause instability."

Anchorwoman: “Do you feel that increasing security for the present moment is necessary in order to keep the area under control?"

Commander B.: “We can confirm that security in the immediate area, the alien zone, has been increased in order to prevent any unfortunate outbreaks of ill will towards the Emperor or any of the Human inhabitants of the local area. The squads will be enforcing the new areas of restriction for aliens with immediate effect. We hope this will not inconvenience anybody and that the matter can be resolved peacefully in the meantime. Recognize this however, if pushed the storm troopers have been authorized to use any force necessary to quell discontent. As long as everyone goes about their business in a peaceful manner and within the bounds of the law, I can foresee no problems with the new arrangements.

Anchorwoman: “Are you not worried that by restricting the freedoms of the alien inhabitants you are simply adding to the problem and inflaming tensions?

Commander B.: “Absolutely not, as long as procedure is followed peacefully by the any aliens there will be no tension.

Anchorwoman: “Ok, that’s all we have time for I’m afraid, thank you Commander for your analysis of the situation. This is Tri-Nebulon News, signing out.

This is Harun Hirsh. Live, with a shocking twist in the events, concerning the recent accident in the Kuat sector. A holo recording was recently delivered to our news agency, including statements to the aforementioned event. We will of course not deprive you of this document, for it is our journalistic duty to uncover all the facts.

* the screen is replaced by the TriNebulon logo, which fades into a dark screen, that only shows the shadowy outlines of what could be a Twi'lek in an officer's uniform *

Citizens of the galaxy, my name is not important, but I speak as the voice of reason to you. I am part of a group of free beings, that many in the Empire will simply refer to as pirates or terrorists. However, I've made this recording, to show you the truth.

The recent explosion and the increased military activity in the Kuat sector have nothing to do with us. We have been observing the events for a while now and the tragic loss of lives is simply another example of how the Empire is trying to tighten its grip on the throat of the whole galaxy. Implying, that we were responsible for this recent explosion is just more convenient for them, than admitting the truth, that this was an imperial operation.

We wish the survivors of this event a fast recovery, since they will also be able to confirm what I just told you.

* The screen once more shows the news reporter *

Tough words, but sadly we were unable to find the origin of the recording, for some additional questions to our friend here. Remember, you saw it first on TriNebulon. This is Harun Hirsh, we'll keep you informed.

- Contruum, Contruum System, Expansion Region -

Early this morning on Contruum, citizens reported a flurry of activity in the warehouse district. An unidentified transport made an unauthorized landing and in a few minutes more than a dozen fighter sized craft blasted into space, ignoring Contruum Space Control’s exit protocols.

A witness, Mr. Schnil Pierce, an employee of nearby Dura-Industries Co., released this statement to police:

"I was driving to work - I like to leave early so I can beat the traffic - when I saw a transport drop from the sky. They moved fast and just a little bit after I saw fifteen or sixteen smaller ships take off after the transport. They looked like...sideways crosses or 'X's or something like that. I didn’t get much of a better look than that..."

The descriptions match the designs of an Incom ship design in development. Incom has recently courted the Empire for fighter contracts, however it is has been reported that Imperial military officials present for recent test flights were less than impressed with the latest Incom design.

It is only supposition, but initial reports connect the incident this morning to former Contruum military officers Gavin Nu and Alex Telic. While no formal charges against Nu or Telic have been made, the men disappeared shortly before Bandar’s execution and have been known to be in contact with Zayri Cresh’s Shadow Claw pirates.
